Recommended age: 2 years and up

Just yesterday they were learning how to crawl, and now they’re on the brink of their ABCs. How do you prepare them for the transition to school? How do you prepare yourself? In our Crafters workshop, kids will get crafty and funky.

Designed and led by Funkeynetics resident occupational therapist, our workshops will be promoting opportunities for the kids to engage in purposeful activities in preparation for the upcoming school years. Children will enjoy getting their hands messy as they create their own beautiful projects. We will practice tracing stencils and cutting safely to create paper shapes. Then explore color mixing through sensory play with shaving foam and food coloring to create a swirly rainbow print.

Fundamentals Points: enhance fine motor skills, dexterity, cognitive development skills, shape recognition, ability to organize and sort objects, develop creative thinking, learn to manipulate a variety of materials, and socializing skills.
